Early Sunday, news hit that actor Bill Paxton had passed away. The 61-year-old had a long and prolific career, starring in everything from teen films like Weird Science to mainstay classics like The Titanic to recent sleeper hits like Nightcrawler. This loss comes as a shock — how did Bill Paxton die? According to a statement by the actor's family, he died unexpectedly due to complications during surgery. It's such tragic news, and Paxton will be so missed. The actor's career has spanned decades, and he is well known for his roles in classic science-fiction films like Aliens and Apollo 13. He also appeared in several notable television roles including HBO's Big Love, and he was nominated for multiple Golden Globe and Emmy awards. Paxton was equally accomplished off-screen, and directed several shorts and the feature-length film Frailty in 2001. His extensive film career has made him a cultural icon, and his presence will be missed. Paxton married Louise Newbury in 1987, and had two children. The family released a statement to the press explaining the loss. “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery," the statement said, and then went on to acknowledge Paxton's numerous accomplishments. "A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.” The passing is unexpected, as Paxton was starring in the CBS drama Training Day. The actor's son James was recently slated to appear alongside him on the show. In a recent interview with People, Paxton gushed about spending time with his children. Paxton will be missed by Hollywood and family alike.

THOUSANDS EVACUATE AS OROVILLE DAM SPILLWAY EXPECTED TO FAIL

Officials have ordered thousands of residents near the Oroville Dam to evacuate the area, saying a "hazardous situation is developing" after an emergency spillway severely eroded.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office says the emergency spillway could fail within an hour unleashing uncontrolled flood waters from Lake Oroville.

The department says people in downstream areas need to leave the area immediately.

It says residents of Oroville, a town of 16,000 people, should head north toward Chico and that other cities should follow orders from their local law enforcement agencies.

President-Elect Donald Trump Deposed In Celebrity Chef Lawsuit

President-elect Donald Trump has been deposed in conjunction with his lawsuit against chef José Andrésreports CNN.
Trump transition team spokeswoman Hope Hicks told the cable channel that the deposition was completed early Thursday, but would not comment on where it took place. However, Politico reported that attorney Rebecca Woods – who represents Trump’s business in the restaurant suit – was seen arriving and leaving Trump Tower on Thursday.
The 70-year-old president-elect sued Andrés for breach of contract after the Spanish chef backed out of a plan for a restaurant in Trump’s Washington, D.C., hotel. Andrés pulled out of the agreement after Trump made disparaging comments about Mexicans while announcing his candidacy for president in 2015.
Alan Garten, executive vice president and general counsel for the Trump Organization, told CNN that the taped deposition lasted just over an hour.
He added in a statement about the case, “In short, the parties entered into a valid and enforceable lease, which the tenant clearly breached by walking out and failing to perform its obligations, thereby entitling the landlord to recover damages in the form of unpaid rent, cost of build out, lost profits and other expenses.”
